Last week I completed training for my new job at Osmington Bay. It was a lot of fun, and I saw my strengths and physical limits.
The place in itself has a lot of history. For example, the Osmington White Horse is a hill figure of King George III cut into Osmington Hill's limestone just north of Weymouth in 1808. The king, who was a regular visitor at the time, paid an artist to create two. The horse shares an important lesson on the importance of communication. There was supposed to be two white horses, one entering and one leaving Weymouth. The artist completed the one leaving Weymouth first before he completed the one entering, and the king thought it was a symbol that the artist wanted him to leave, so the king had him beheaded. Unfortunate for the artist and a lesson to be learnt by all of us.
My training was fun. Considering my new job is an outdoor job. It was fun. I love the outdoors. I love the sea, and I love people. The training was also good as I was able to see my physical limits as well.
I loved my trainers, they were truly wonderful people and when it was time to say goodbye I got shy and was sad. I shuffled as fast as I could to the door without saying goodbye. (so embarrassing) I regretted it later, and I wish I were better at saying goodbyes.
At the end of the week, I had an old man shuffle. I was doubled over, shuffling like an older man in slippers. It was quite a sight if I say so myself. My legs were so sore, and my back and stomach hurt so much, but it was so fun.
I met so many new people. And I left with new friends.
I also found my happy place!
I am still trying my best to be me, myself and I. Love, be happy and pray.
I do not know what God has in store for me in the future, but that is okay. I am so excited about it, and Until it comes, I am enjoying every moment. The world can be such a beautiful place with such beautiful people in it.
