Dreams Do Come True.

Isabel

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

The five-year-old Isabel was sat in the Livingroom watching Cinderella singing along to a dream is a wish your heart makes:

"A dream is a wish your heart makes When you're fast asleep In dreams, you will lose your heartache Whatever you wish for you keep

Have faith in your dreams, and someday Your rainbow will come smiling through No matter how your heart is grieving If you keep on believing The dream that you wish will come true

A dream is a wish your heart makes When you're feeling small Alone in the night, you whisper

Thinking no one can hear you at all You wake with the morning sunlight To find fortune that is smiling on you

Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow For all, you know tomorrow The dream that you wish will come true No matter how your heart is grieving If you keep up believing The dream that you wish will come true."

Fast forward a couple of years. Starry-eyed me turned 22 and "became an adult". My thought process changed too; get a good job, a car and save for a house. I honestly think that the various experiences in life up to that point just made me stop believing in dreams, love and fairy tales. Looking back, I think I had lost my motivation, zest for life and just was burnt out, tired with life trials. I just needed a break. I suppose in old English, the word that would describe how I was feeling is wearied.

So, you could have imagined my surprise when there was a buzz on my phone. It was another late night at the library, and my good friend messaged me, inviting me to her home in Latvia. I was so happy and grateful for the invite. I was so touched that she wanted me to come. I almost did not go, but after some persuasion, I was in dreamy Latvia a couple of weeks later. I had such a good time. I regained my zest for life, restored my faith in humanity. I also learned a lot about myself, my family and Christianity. My friend and her family showed me so much, love. I went with two of my other girlfriends, and it was so amazing for all four of us to be reunited.

Latvia truly touched my heart and was good for my soul. When I was there, I truly felt like Cinderella; it was so beautiful. The experience made me realize that dreams do come true. I am so grateful, and I will forever be in debt to my friend for such a wonderful time.

I honestly believe that gods timing is perfect. Going to Latvia felt like it was meant to be. Also, the advice that I got about work has changed my life forever.

Forever grateful and forever in love,

Isabel xXx
